The Cloth Hall stands in the middle of the Main Market, this former market stalls were founded in the second half of 13th century by the King Boleslaus the Shy (Boleslaw Wstydliwy). Rebuilt by the King Casimir the Great (Kazimierz Wielki) the Cloth Hall preserved as a Gothic building until 1555 when it got burnt in fire. The famous masters renovated the Krakow's Cloth Hall: Jan Maria Padovano and Santi Gucci - the creator of beautiful gargoyles named mascarons. |
